How to reach: From Hyderabad city, you have to take the right turn at the junction of Shamshabad Begumpet. Then keep driving for 5 km.

Timing: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Sri Rama Chandra Temple

The Shri Rama Chandra temple is situated in a small village named Ammapalli. This temple is considered among the most ancient ones and the temple’s scenario is usually shown in many of the Bollywood movies.

This temple was built during the Kalyani Chalukyas times and as estimated it is 800-900 years old. Since then, there’s no damage to this temple. This temple was dedicated to Rama (seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu).

If you have taken the ORR, then take the airport exit and drive towards the town of Shamshabad. Then keep left at the junction of the bus stop.  The destination would be on the left of the main road.

9. Wagal Saraswati Temple

Distance from Hyderabad: 52 km from Hyderabad.

Best time to visit: The majority of people prefer to visit this temple on the Vasantha Panchami that in January or February. Navarati festival is celebrated in a very grand manner.

How to reach: It takes approx. 1 hour via taxi from the Feth Nagar. Moreover, if you prefer to drive by yourself then it would take approx. 54 minutes.

This temple is situated in the village Wargal on the hillock in the Medak district of Telangana. This temple dedicated to goddess Saraswati is one of the most famous temples that came after Barasa.

How to reach: There are four ways to get to Singur Dam that is via taxi, train, taxi, or train from Chandanagar and to drive by yourself. The time to reach there is approx. 1 and a half hours including all the means mentioned above. 

Singur Dam

Singur Dam is located near Sangareddy town in the district of Medak in Telangana.  This is known to be the tourist point near Hyderabad. It is constructed on the river Manjeera. The drinking water supplies of Hyderabad and Secunderabad are provided by this dam.

Distance from Hyderabad: 61 km from Hyderabad.

Best time to visit: The best time is not based on the months but upon the hours. The best hours to visit are between evening and morning hours. To visit the whole fort it takes at most 4 hours.

How to reach: To enjoy the trip, you can have the drive with your family members. Buses are also available to reach.

This fort was constructed in the 14th century. This fort was constructed by the Recherla Singama Nayak. It is the capital of the Rachakonda region. This place is considered the weekend spot by the people living in the Hyderabad.

It was built on large stones without the help of any mortar. The fort is surrounded by hills and hence, it is a good place for trekking purposes as well. But presently, the fort is not at its best as it is in a somewhat ruined state.

12. Chilkur Balaji Temple

Distance from Hyderabad: 35 km from Hyderabad.

Best time to visit: Best to visit this Balaji temple is during occasions such as Poolangi, Anakota, and Brahmotsavams.

How to reach: Either you can drive on your own or can travel via bus. It takes approx. 30 minutes to reach.

Chilkur Balaji Temple

It is located in the picturesque chilkur village. The temple is so beautifully constructed that it has been the attraction spot for the devotees world-wide. It is built on the back of Osman Sagar Lake and close to the road of Vikarabad.

The particular name of the builder is not known yet, but according to saying it is believed that one the devotee has built the temple as due to some health issues, was not able to visit the Tirupati temple.

Lord Venkateshwara appeared to that devotee and instructed to find the lord’s idol. Furthermore, the devotee was also instructed to build the temple together with Bhoodevi and Sridevi. Since then, the devotees who cannot visit Tirupati, visit this temple.

13. Keesara gutta

Distance from Hyderabad: 40 km from Hyderabad.

Best time to visit: The best time to visit the temple is between February to March. The festival of Shivratri is celebrated in a great manner. 

How to reach: You can drive to a place in just 2 hours from Hyderabad.

This temple is located in the Rangareddy district. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There are more than 100 temples of Lord Shiva in India. But the most famous one in Telangana is Keesara Gutta.

14. Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary

Distance from Hyderabad: 115 km from Hyderabad.
